D2Ware – Dota 2 Lobbies with Custom Gamemodes/Plugins

Have you ever wanted to play WTF Mode or Legends of Dota in Dota 2? Well guess what, D2Ware has the ability for you to do that. I stumbled across this website today and just realize how awesome it is. What this site offers is lobbies that are hosted by D2Ware and allow you to create or join specific lobbies with up to 3 selected plugins. Now what are plugins? Plugins are pretty much gamemodes that are coded by the community and serve a certain purpose. Some plugins will offer common gamemodes from Dota 1, while others can be simple things like removing the jungle creeps from the map. If your looking to play dota 2, but with silly and very fun gamemodes, check out D2Ware. I’ve been playing many hours of these plugins and I have been having great amounts of fun. Check it out here: http://d2ware.net/

Using The Site

This website and process of creating and joining lobbies are extremely easy to follow and the only thing you really have to do if sign in on the website with your steam account. From there, everything is done through the website.

After you signed in through steam, click the ‘”lobbies” tab on the top menu. This will take you to the lobbies area where you can either join an existing one, or create a lobby yourself. You can have up to three plugins as stated before and takes only seconds to set up. Once you have joined or set up a lobby, all you have to do is wait for players to join. If your Dota 2 client is not already open, you can click “Start Dota” at the bottom of the chat. Once the lobby becomes full, the game will automatically start and a “Match Found” area will come up. This will come up on the website, not the client (the same sound is made when match is found). Click accept and then you will get a message saying if you want to open the client from a website. Click continue and if you go to your client, you will see that you are loading. The match will start and it is set as a private lobby, meaning there are no rewards or abandonments.

Plugins

Plugins are content creating by the community that allow for several things in-game. There are about 5 pages of plugins with the highest rated being first. Members are allowed to create their own plugins and submit them to the website, however this will require knowledge of JavaScript. After matches, you can rate the plugins you just played with.

Overall, this website is amazing and I highly suggest you try it out. You will have lots of fun. I will probably start to make some builds for Legends Of Dota because its such a cool gamemode, but for now I’ll just be playing it for hours!

Again, you can visit the website here: http://d2ware.net/ and after you sign in through steam, you will be able to play or create lobbies. Watch for me out there, my steam name is SilentDoom Enjoy!
